About Me

Live, Laugh, Love!

Hi. The author happens to be terrible at writing ‘about me’ sections, so she is attempting to do it in third person to alleviate the cringe.

Catherine Arya Holmes grew up on an acreage outside a small town in rural Nebraska. She spent the first 21 years of her life on the farm before finally escaping the mentally and emotionally abusive household to live with her oldest brother.

A month after her 22nd birthday, Catherine, or ‘Cat’, suffered a severe mental breakdown triggered by her mother. Realizing the depth of pain and trauma she was suffering from, she started therapy and created this blog as an outlet and to share with her audience the great adventure she was about to go on; finding healing and freedom.

Cat has many hobbies and passions. She is an avid writer and reader, although she tends to daydream more than write and collect more than read. She has been writing since she was 15 though and one must give her the benefit of the doubt. She is the proud author of a growing fanfiction and is working on a massive fantasy book series with the loving care of a mother raising her child.

Cat also likes to put her analytical mind to use critiquing movies, books, and music. One of the best parts of her childhood was the rousing and intellectually stimulating conversations around the dinner table about the deeper meaning of movies. Having grown up with a mother who has a degree in film study from the University of California at Santa Barbara and a brother who wants to be a filmmaker, well, lets just say the conversations were good.

Catherine is also interested in other varied and unique hobbies and pastimes. She enjoys needle art, coloring, baking and international cooking, traveling, sword fighting, cosplaying, psychology and self help, quote collecting, papercrafts, gaming, Catholicism, decorating, fashion, gardening, healthy living, and beauty.

She has a tribe built around other outcasts and unique people like herself and loves each and every one of them dearly. From her obnoxious and annoying brothers, to her darling aunts, pirate uncle, untamable best friend, and so many other colorful, exciting individuals that help make Cat who she is and always will be;

Different.

What Cat truly wants more than anything for her dear readers is a chance to grow and change with her. As she finds herself after years of mental scarring, she hopes her readers may find a piece of themselves as well. Or even the courage to go forth and take a leap of faith in their own adventures. And most importantly, to always know they are not alone in their endeavors. Catherine Arya Holmes always wants to encourage and cheer them on in whatever they’re reaching for.

Darling, you don’t need all that armor. Because what lives inside, they can’t break.

JmStorm

Sentimental children, forever whining how bitterly unfair your lives have been. Well it may have escaped your notice but, life isn’t fair.

Severus Snape

Do not pity the dead, Harry. Pity the living. And above all, those who live without love.
